Depart Los Angeles. Our Spiritual Journey begins
as we depart Los Angeles on our Delta Airlines
flights to Tel Aviv.

2009
TEL AVIV / JERUSALEM. Arrive Tel Aviv Airport at
5:20 where we will be welcome by our tour guide and
motor coach driver. Transfer to our hotel in
Jerusalem.
September 9, 2009
MOUNT OF OLIVES / GETHSEMANE / BETHLEHEM / EIN
KAREM. We start this morning with the Mount of
Olives, the Church of Pater Noster, down to Dominus
Flevit and St. Mary Magdalene Church. Pray at the
Garden of Gethsemane and on to Bethlehem to visit
the Church of the Nativity, the Holy Manger and the
Basilica of St. Catherine. Then down to the
Shepherds’ field before returning to Jerusalem. On
the way back, we stop in Ein Karem to visit the
Church of the Visitacion.
September 10, 2009
JERUSALEM / OLD CITY / MOUNT ZION. This morning,
transfer to the Old City to take the “Way of the
Cross” Procession and carrying the cross to Calvary.
Return to the hotel for breakfast and then back to
the Old City to visit the Church of St. Anne, the
Pools of Bethesda and walk through the Cardo to the
Western Wall. On Mount Zion, we visit the Room of
the Last Supper, the House of Caiaphas and the
Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu.

BETHANY / JERICHO / DEAD SEA / QUMRAN. We depart
Jerusalem and stop in Bethany, known as the place
where Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. We visit
the Franciscan Church built on the traditional house
of Mary and Martha and from here through the Judean
Desert to Jericho to visit the exactions and the
Mount of Temptation. Continue to Qumran where the
Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. We stop at the
Dead Sea before returning to Jerusalem.

JERUSALEM / CAESAREA / HAIFA / MOUNT CARMEL /
NAZARETH. This morning we depart Jerusalem and drive
to Caesarea to visit the Roman city with its Roman
temple, royal palace, amphitheater and public
buildings including the aqueduct. Continue to Haifa
and Moutn Carmel to visit Stella Maris Carmelite
Monastery and Elijah’s Cave. On to Cana, the
traditional site where Jesus performed his first
public miracle in the wedding. We conclude our day
in Nazareth, visiting the Church of the
Annunciation, the Holy Grotto and the Church of St.
Joseph.

GALILEE / CAPERNAUM / MOUNT BEATITUDES / RIVER
JORDAN. Today we will explore the sites along the
Sea of Galilee. Capernaum where Jesus preached in
the synagogue. St. Peter’s House, Mount of
Beatitudes and Tabgha, where Jesus multiplied the
loaves of bread and fish; and the baptismal site on
the River Jordan. We will also enjoy a boat ride on
the Sea of Galilee.

ISRAEL / BORDER CROSSING / MOUNT NEBO / MADABA /
BAPTISMAL SITE. This morning we drive down to the
border crossing on the River Jordan. We will be met
today by our tour guide and bus driver from Jordan
and we start our drive to Madaba to visit the
Church. , home to a beautiful 6th century mosaic map
of the Holy Land. From the summit of Mount Nebo view
the “Promised Land” and then see the newly
discovered ruins of Bethany beyond the Jordan and
the baptismal site on the Jordan River.
September 15, 2009
AMMAN / PETRA / AQABA. Today we drive to Petra,
for a most unforgettable day in Petra! Our visit of
the “rose-red” city begins at the “Siq”, a winding
canyon road. At the end of the passage, we will se
Petra’s most beautiful monument the treasury. We
will discover temples, royal tombs, a theater and
water channels all carved in the rock. In the
afternoon, we drive to the winter resort of Aqaba
for overnight in this lovely city to enjoy the warm
weather and beautiful clear Red Sea water.

AQABA / MORGENLAND (NEAR ST. CATHERINE
MONASTERY). After a leisurely morning, we take our
private boat and cross the Red Sea from the
Jordanian side to the Egyptian side where we will be
welcomed by our tour guide from Cairo. Transfer to
Morgenland for overnight.

2009
MOUNT SINAI / ST. CATHERINE MONASTERY / CARIO. A
wake-up call at 2:00 am for those who wish to make
the four-hour climb to the top of Mount Sinai, which
is believed to be the location where Moses received
the Ten Commandments. Down to St. Catherine
Monastery, built in the sixth century to protect
what was believed to be the Burning Bush. Later we
continue through Sinai Peninsula, seeing the Suez
Canal on our way to Cairo.
September 18, 2009
OLD CAIRO / CITADEL / CHURCHES. Today we will
explore the famous Citadel of Saladin and the
Mohammed Ali Mosque, where we will enjoy a panoramic
view of Cairo. In Old Cairo, visit the Hanging
Church, the Coptic Museum and Abu Serga Church,
built over the cave which provided refuge for the
Holy Family. Later, we visit the Church of St. Mary
in Zeitoun where many apparitions happened and
witness by thousands in Cairo. We will have time for
shopping at various stores.
September 19, 2009
ALEXANDRIA. We depart Cairo through the desert
Road to Alexandria to trace its Roman heritage and
enjoy a visit to the summer palace and gardens of
previous kings. In the afternoon, we return to
Cairo.
September 20, 2009
CAIRO / MUSEUM / PYRAMIDS. We start with the
Egyptian Museum and Tutankhamen’s fabulous
treasures. Then leave for ancient Memphis to admire
the 49-foot statue of Ramses II and the Alabaster
Sphinx. Then back to the Great Pyramids of Giza and
the Sphinx. This evening, we will enjoy farewell
dinner and then transfer to Cairo Airport.
September 21, 2009
CAIRO / LOS ANGELES. Depart Cairo on Delta
Airlines flights back to Los Angeles via New York.
